学术讲座通知:Impact of Mobility on Vehicular Communication Network Performance and Applications

应网络与交换技术国家重点实验室邀请,加拿大科学院、工程院院士,通信领域国际著名专家、IEEE Fellow、加拿大滑铁卢大学沈学民教授及其科研团队成员将来我校交流并作学术报告。欢迎有兴趣的师生踊跃参与。

报告题目: Impact of Mobility on Vehicular Communication Network Performance and Applications

报告摘要:

1.简要介绍沈教授团队最新代表性研究成果。主要包括:车载网络容量与成本效率研究、车载网络内容分发方法研究、车载网MAC协议设计研究、基于Wi-Fi的车载数据分流方法研究、面向车载应用的互联网接入方法研究、基于车载技术的智能交通系统应用研究、基于Platoon的车载信息物理融合系统理论研究,并在各主题上取得众多具有代表性的研究成果;

2.介绍泛在车载互联技术,介绍了基于动态时隙分配方法的车载MAC原型系统,基于Hotspot2.0的新型车载WiFi接入原型系统并进行了路测。未来将开发第一个基于TVWS的车载接入原型(WhiteFi),将为车载用户提供更大覆盖范围更高传输数据更可靠的车载通信应用;

3.畅想沉浸式一体化车联技术。提出基于V2X的沉浸式驾驶体验,沉浸式车联网:未来人与车将沉浸在信息随处可得的道路信息网中,车辆可以与人和环境进行任意交互,并根据实时全域情境信息实现智能自主驾驶,为用户提供自由自在的智能化信息服务。并提出一体化沉浸式车联网络架构,合理利用天基卫星通信平台辅助增强车辆互联的泛在性;通过具有广域局部覆盖、 高速低延迟接入、廉通信成本特点的平流层平台对城市地面通信设施进行区域性扩容;高效整合基于5G的地面公共通信网络资源,构架交互式沉浸体验的空天地一化车联网络;

4.介绍一体化车联网仿真验证技术。沈教授正在开发的仿真验证平台包括宽带通信实验室车联网仿真与验证平台、一体化车联网综合仿真验证平台。

个人简介:

Xuemin (Sherman) Shen (IEEE M’97-SM’02-F09)  received the B.Sc.(1982) degree from Dalian Maritime University (China) and the M.Sc. (1987) and Ph.D. degrees (1990) from Rutgers University, New Jersey (USA), all in electrical engineering. He is a Professor and University Research Chair, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada. He is also the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies. Dr. Shen’s research focuses on resource management in interconnected wireless/wired networks, wireless network security, social networks, smart grid, and vehicular ad hoc and sensor networks. He is an elected member of IEEE ComSoc Board of Governor, and the Chair of Distinguished Lecturers Selection Committee. Dr. Shen served as the Technical Program Committee Chair/Co-Chair for IEEE Globecom’16, Infocom’14, IEEE VTC’10 Fall, and Globecom’07, the Symposia Chair for IEEE ICC’10, the Tutorial Chair for IEEE VTC'11 Spring and IEEE ICC’08, the General Co-Chair for ACM Mobihoc’15, Chinacom’07 and QShine’06, the Chair for IEEE Communications Society Technical Committee on Wireless Communications, and P2P Communications and Networking. He also serves/served as the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Network, Peer-to-Peer Networking and Application, and IET Communications; an Associate Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Internet of Things Journal,  a Founding Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications; an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, Computer Networks, and ACM/Wireless Networks, etc.; and the Guest Editor for IEEE JSAC, IEEE Wireless Communications, IEEE Communications Magazine, and ACM Mobile Networks and Applications, etc. Dr. Shen received the Excellent Graduate Supervision Award in 2006, and the Outstanding Performance Award in 2004, 2007, 2010, and 2014 from the University of Waterloo, the Premier’s Research Excellence Award (PREA) in 2003 from the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the Distinguished Performance Award in 2002 and 2007 from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Waterloo. Dr. Shen is a registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, Canada, an IEEE Fellow, an Engineering Institute of Canada Fellow, a Canadian Academy of Engineering Fellow, a Royal Society of Canada Fellow, and a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and Communications Society.
